Hi, Glenn!!!! Holy cow, the boxes are FANTASTIC. You're an awesome craftsman.
Absolutely worth waiting for. I'm going up to my parents place today just so I
can load them up with my grandfather's artifacts and present it to my dad.
He's going to be thrilled. I should do a before picture (beat up cardboard
boxes and ziploc bags :-) and after picture (your sweet cherry display boxes).
My dad used to love making things out of wood so he'll be impressed and
understand the fine woodworking skills it takes to make them. The neatest
thing is you made the tolerances so tight the lid doesn't slam down since the
natural air escape makes a pneumatic brake. Very cool. And thanks for the best

I was recently asked to "guest conduct" some of my own music at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Prior to the concert, my little sweethart, from Omaha, Nebraska, presented me with a conductor's baton in an attractive wooden box.

Needless to say, I was thrilled to lead the student concert band with my very own "presentation" baton, but I couldn't help admiring the magnificently tooled wooden box that it came in. She explained that with only a few weeks' notice, you had fashioned the box by hand and had it shipped to Omaha in time for my arrival.

First of all, please accept my sincere thanks for making this project a priority and my respect and admiration for your superb craftsmanship. I'm afraid we live in a time when this sort of thing can be punched out en-masse in Taiwan or Korea with computer generated designs, and it's wonderful to see and feel something that is still being so expertly produced by hand. You're part of a dying breed of what we used to call "artisans".
