Here is where the wood in your box is from.
The Black Walnut wood was personally cut from a Dearborn Michigan neighborhood in 1983. The Oak wood was cut from a neighborhood in Lake Orion near Vorheis Lake. I had property there that I dreamt of building the house we live in now. When I transfered to TN I brought that dream with me and the wood also.
The wood was all cut with my chain saw. I cut the trees down, milled the logs, and stored the wood in a barn in Lake Orion for many years. Many people asked what I would use it for. Not knowing exactly what I would use it for, I just thought I would use it in my house. Out of that I created boxes for gifts. Out of that wood I made toys for my children. Out of that I created a web store to make custom toys and boxes.
All of the wood has a history. The Black Walnut was from a neighbor hood that Henry Ford created for his management to live in. I often think that the wood was planted by the first management working for Henry. Little story my mother told me... She remembered going into work on Saturdays and playing with Henry's children at the plant
